Hurghada Hotels

Originally Hurghada was a small fishing village by the Red Sea. Unlike Quseir and Safaga further south, Hurghada never served as port to the Red Sea when coming through the Eastern Desert from the Nile Valley. It was even a closed area during times of wars, but then when the development of the Red Sea as tourist destination started - it was this small fishing village who suddenly became the pioneer.

Today Hurghada is the largest Egyptian city by the Red Sea and we have here selected two hotels inside the city and two resorts on virgin beaches south of the city.

Activities are many, from all powered by wind on sea to safari's into the mountains of the Eastern Desert. The city itself is filled with restaurants, bars and night life.

Still it's underwater among the colourful fish and coral reefs the most amazing are to be found. Dive in or take a diving course, snorkelling the reefs or follow a glass boat - just make sure that you will be able to see this underwater paradise, even if we know days in the pool can be hard and exhausting (-:

From Hurghada it's not many hours drive to Luxor and the amazing remains of Ancient Egypt found there. Find your hotel within Hurghada or have a look at the two resorts found south of the city.

 Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh
20 Km south of Hurghada is this resort located far from the tourist crown in an unspoiled region with an exclusive 850-meter private beach. Please note that this is an "All Suite" resort without normal hotel rooms.

 Sheraton Soma Bay
Built in a neo-pharaonic style this upscale resort is found by first driving about 30 km south from Hurghada International Airport. From the main road here there is still 10 km to the beautiful Soama Bay, peaceful and totally away from any tourist machine.

 Grand Hotel
The hotel is located directly on the beach in the southern part of Hurghada, connected with above mentioned Grand Resort. Good place to enjoy quality and at the same time be inside Hurghada itself.
