Lake Nasser Cruises
South of Aswan
lies the new High Dam which created the huge Lake Nasser, and the
temples here - where Ramses III large temples in Abu Simbel are
the most known, was saved in late sixties through a worldwide effort.
These wonderful monuments have been nearly unreachable for visitors
(apart from Philae and Abu Simbel) up to the first ship
on Lake Nasser, “MS Eugenie” was built.
MS Eugenie was the first ship to initiate the now so popular Lake Nasser Cruises. The elegant ship has 52 cabins and suites where the standard cabins each are 21 square meters - all with Lake Nasser view.
MS Kasr Ibrim is the sister ship of MS Eugenie. The elegant ship has 65 cabins and suites where the standard cabins each are 23 square meters - all with Lake Nasser view.
Apart from the majestic nature of Lake Nasser, the cruise bring you to the Kalabsha temple, Ramses III'srock cut temple known as Beit el Wali, the Roman temple of Hathor, known as Kertassi. Further south Ramses II's temple know as Wadi El Seboua temple, the Meriotic and Ptolemaic temple called Al Dakka, the unfinished Serapis temple called Al Meharakka. Visit to the saved temple of Amada (built during ThothMoses III and Amenhotep II), the rock cut temple of Derr and tomb of Penout (deputy under Ramses VI). On the east side of the lake is the ancient Fort now called Kasr Ibrim - and furthest south the two famous temples in Abu Simbel.
The combination of “turn of the century luxury” with present day comfort allows explorers of today to travel in style.
On deck a shaded restaurant and a mosaic-lined swimming pool, or relax in the spacious lounge areas, restaurants or one of the bars. Cabins have all the comfort one should expect of a five star floating hotel, and apart from cabins you will find suites of different kind.
A cruise with MS Eugenie or MS Kasr Ibrim is either 4 nights or 3 nights. Cruise schedule is based on weekdays and is as follows:
