Coffee shops have a long and strong tradition in Cairo. There are the famous coffee shops as Fishawy in Khan El Khalili which most tour operators will take you, and then it's those who mass tourism never reaches.

All areas got their coffee shops, very much as pubs are found around in England. Then you got coffee shops where people with special interests and alike are meeting, as the coffee shop where extras in film, television and theatres hangs out hoping to get a new job.

The coffee shop for extras is not showing up in any way, but has a long history in fulfilling its very special purpose.
